Great Basin Museum’s Fossil Collection Tour, by Owen Neilsen
Description of some of the interesting fossils on display, including Allosaurus from eastern Utah predator trap quarry, Arizona petrified wood, Alaska Wooly Mammoth tooth, Trilobites, brachiopods, stromatolites from the Notch Peak formation, fossil Ginko Leaf, trilobites showing predation damage. Description of the major equipment in the barn. An 1800's Case steam tractor that was a threshing machine and then a sawmill in Saw Mill Canyon, removed from the canyon and restored. Board member Tina Nielson gives a brief description of some of the rocks, gems and fossils on display, including Nautilus, galena, calcium fluorite, pyrite, wulfenite, chalcopyrite and some glow in the dark rocks that glow under black light (UV). Great Basin Museum’s Lynndyl Train History Display Tour, by Trevor Stevens
Trevor Stevens has created a model replica of the Lynndyl, UT train station, including roundhouse, turntable, car sheds, coal sheds, water tower. There is a lovely backdrop diorama.
